Active pro team rider and technical skateboarding guru Daewon Song made the cover of TWS this month for their First Annual Skate and Create Issue. Transworld Magazine is going to be putting out videos online of each of the teams who were featured in the articles. We got a sneak peak and were amazed at how great of a job everyone involved did. We will let you know when the videos are released, but for now you can admire this cover photo and go out and buy a copy of Transworld’s Skate and Create Issue!

Tomorrow the second annual X Games Shop challenge is going down at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Last year Active walked away with the Gold Medal and this year you can watch the action live at the Staples Center. Last year the Active Team was Torey Pudwill and Justin Figueroa aka Figgy. This year the Active team is Theotis Beasley, Justin Figueroa, David Loy (who is subbing in for Brian ‘Slash’ Hansen) and Greg Myers. The event is free and open to the public. Get to the Staples Center before Noon tomorrow to watch Active battle it out against 3 other So Cal skate shops in hopes of bringing home the second consecutive Gold Medal for Active! See you there!
A month or so ago Andrew Reynolds decided that he wanted to shoot his Ad at his house with a minimalist view of it and of himself. Atiba Jefferson and Andrew met up and Andrew’s house has numerous great settings where they could have shot the Ad, but Andrew decided to shoot it in front of his vintage piano with one of his acoustic guitars in hand. The ad is featured in TheSkateboardMag as well as Transworld. If you live under a rock and haven’t yet checked out Andrew’s band, The Goat, you should. Altamont makes The Goat gear as well so make sure you stock up.

Active Ams Justin Figueroa aka Figgy, Theotis Beasley, Greg Myers and Brian Hansen aka Slash competed for Active in the Red Bull Shop Challenge Qualifier Round this past Saturday night. The guys did really well and won two rounds of skate jams which gives them a place to skate in the X Games Shop Challenge. They will be competing against three other teams that qualified this year. Last year, Torey Pudwill and Justin Figueroa took home the Gold for the Active team and we’re all hoping to see a repeat! They will be skating pre-X Games Street Finals on August 2nd 2008 so if you’re going to the X Games make sure you cheer on the Active Team!

Who are your Sponsors?
My Sponsors are Baker, Altamont, Thunder, Spitfire, Nike SB, Vitamin Water, and Flik Griptape.
How did you get into skating?
I got into from my cousins. He came over to my house and asked me if I wanted to skate with him and ever since that I’ve been skating all the time.
How does it feel to be a part of Altamont?
It is the best feeling. I love skating with Andrew Reynolds, Bryan Herman and the rest of the team. They take good care of me. When I got that call from Reynolds I felt so honored.
