Go Skateboarding Day in Ohio looked like a lot of fun. Riding in the back of pickup trucks and blowing up fireworks may be illegal here in California, but in good old Ohio they wouldn’t have it any other way. As you watch this video, you may be wondering what Norwegian Black Metal has to do with Go Skateboarding Day in Ohio. That’s good, cause so am I. Video courtesy of Erik Bragg.
Our buddies over at Skateboard.com have been hooking up all kinds of rad video lately, and here is another one. This one is a quick Q&A with Active’s own, Paul Rodriguez. Enjoy.
Active Family member and good friend Mike Vallely celebrates his 21st year as a professional skater!! To me, Mike is the meaning of professional! If you missed the last one check out the highlight reel http://news.activerideshop.com/mike-vallely-demo-video/

WeActive! event this Saturday May 17th 2-4pm. The rest of the WESC crew will be there signing autographs. Click more for all the details!! Jason Lee’s gonna be there representing for the WESC. Jason is the co-owner of Stereo/rider and in currently starring in the hit TV series “My name is Earl”. Yes, he still gets down on the stunt wood, while being crazy busy with his other ventures. Lee is someone I’ve always looked up to. He’s a skater that has been creatively successful, instead of just burning out on drugs like most. At 15 me and my skate posse attacked LA skate spots and tried to grow mutten chops after watching this part in Video Days. Check it out and do the same! Click below for more details about the WeActivate event! See you Sat!!
Ray Barbee! One of the nicest guys I know! The same guy who almost single handedly help the skate scene transition from neon crap/spandex to wearing jeans and ball caps! At least in my little scene. At the time the runs Ray was doing and all the no complys was out of this world. I’ve attached a little You Tube video of his 1989 part in Powell’s “Ban This”. Come check out Ray grooving with his new band at the Santa Monica Active’s WeActive! event this Saturday May 17th 2-4pm. The rest of the WESC crew will be there signing autographs. Click more for all the details!!
Check out the action at the second stop of the NHSSA contest series. Great times and some budding talent! Contact NHSSA @ www.Sk8NHSSA.com to learn how you and your buddies can represent your high school. This things going Nation wide, so be apart of something totally skater run today. We?ll see you at Woodward West in Tehachapi Saturday May 24th!

Check out all the action from the RVCA demo that took place at Active Ride Shop Escondido. Leo Romero and Kevin “Spanky” Long got down it. Spanky, in top form after suffering some injuries this past year. The guy is a straight up biker now, so I don’t know if “Spanky” still applies, but whatever, he’s rad. Let’s change it to “Snake”! Our own Anthony Pshebelski (pronounce She Bell Ski! The P is silent!!) threw down like the hungry Am he is. Look out for him to rule the skate planet. Oh, he’s the young man cranking out the switch front side big heels and wearing the killer head band. I know… I’m a brown noser! Watch the video sucka!!
P.S. Leo is the gnarliest!

We followed Kenny Anderson and the Elwood Clothing Team around on Earth Day for some good times and great skateboarding. Here’s Part 1 of 2 of ‘Earth Day in the Life of Kenny Anderson‘.
